I’m on 130 episodes now from a novel whose previous version was over 40 episodes ago (that's almost never a good sign).
I remember that I left Televisa by the 2010s, with a few exceptions, nothing but a bunch of expanded remakes in HD but with the worst casts. Culminating in those shity remakes of Pasion y Poder, El Manantial and Amor en Silencio.
But since the 4k era is even worse I decided to give these novelas a chance, Un Refugio para el Amor was cute enough. But Lo que la vida me robó es just plain stupid.

Besides the fact they decided to adapt a period drama to a modern one.
I think the worst part is the change in psychologies from all the characters in service of the screenplay. Juan Carlos Alcala was like “Let's make this character now a bad guy, we need conflict”.

Manuel Fuentes Guerra was a proud machista with his pride always stepping into the relationship, a man of his time you could say. But Alejandro not only is abusive but plain annoying he's not a good husband because of lo… the screenplay needs that. Not to mention Rulli looks exactly the same when he was a worker than now that he is the owner (the costumes in this novela are BAAAD).

Angelique has a very weird pose type of acting (i blame the director) almost parody like in the scenes where Alejandro is abusive to her. At least she becomes a baker, that's nice I guess.

The bad guys are over the top and cliche, in this remake the matriarch is not only an abusive mother who uses her daughter to keep her privileges. But now she is also a ‘slut’ who was involved with the male lead's father and also is the real mother of the cousin character (expansion by Angelli Nesma Trademark).

Pedro Medina is a woman beater gone extreme, now he hates the lead character because he is responsible for an accident where he lost a testicle…
